The EU General Data Protection Regulation  25th May 2018

What you should know.

As a new osteopathic patient, you will be asked a lot of medical and personal questions during your initial consultation, which will be recorded on paper and transferred to computer. (Your osteopath needs an in-depth picture of your medical profile and lifestyle to devise the most effective treatment plan for your problem). All of this data will be stored securely for six years (longer for children) and will not be shared with anyone or any organisation without your prior knowledge and written consent.

The information you give to your practitioner is completely confidential, so the records belong to you. You may request access to some or all of the data you have given at any time and for whatever reason, and your request will be met within the month in a format that is understandable to you. This applies to any copies of medical reports or images that may be on your file.

Personal details such as your e-mail address and telephone numbers will only be used to contact you whilst you are receiving treatment or seeking advice, as any promotions or updates about Osteopath-on-the-Broads will be advertised on our website.

A testimonial from a satisfied patient is always a welcome addition to our website but has to be volunteered and not solicited. You may post any comments you have on our facebook page – these can then be transferred to the website.
